The cast and crew are in crunch time. Rehearsal last night was exhausting. Even I started to slip a bit. The tree looked great though.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do about Thanksgiving. My mother wants me to come to Miami. Honestly, there's nothing in Miami but my mother and maybe a brother. Is that enough?

My family is small like that. I go home for Christmas but I stay here for Thanksgiving. I guess in your case it would depend on how badly she wanted you to go.

I love my mother, but I can't spend $1,000 on a plane ticket right now.

I'm going to my parents after Thanksgiving, when it's cheaper, and I'm doing Thanksgiving for myself. You could do something like that.

She is currently working two jobs. She cannot take enough time off from both jobs to come here. Also, if I can't get a $1,000 plane ticket to go to Miami, I can't get a $1,000 plane ticket to send her from Miami to Boston.

Also, she claims that she is waiting for FEMA relief after Wilma. She is not in the position to travel until she deals with the bureaucracy.

All of that makes sense.

I certainly agree with the person who suggested going on a less-expensive and less-crazy weekend. We're doing things with our parents on different weekends as well.

Well, I might be hosting Thanksgiving at Continuum, featuring prime rib. I've been meaning to roast one for awhile.
